THE WHAT? Beiersdorf said that it has started fiscal 2022 ‘well’, with provisional figures indicating that the German manufacturer of Nivea’s sales increased substantially by 10.3 percent in the first three months of the financial year.
THE DETAILS Organic sales in the consumer business segment rose 11.6 percent year-on-year to €1,789 million. The quarterly statement will be released at the end of the month.
THE WHY? The above-expectation performance in the first quarter is encouraging but Beiersdorf said that, due to uncertainties surrounding the war in Ukraine, corona-driven lockdowns in China and inflationary pressure on raw materials and logistics costs, its 2022 full-year forecast remains unchanged.
