THE WHAT? Alexander McQueen has launched a collection of scented candles, according to a report published by WWD.
THE DETAILS The range comprises three different scents: Ghost Flower, Pagan Rose and Savage Bloom. Each was created by a different perfumer and is designed to tell the story of the fashion label’s runway collections.
Formed of black mineral and rapeseed wases and moulded into an egg shape made from black lacquered glass with a lid in either a silver, blackened bronze or aged gold shade and packaged in a recyclable wooden crate, the candles certainly stand out.
THE WHY? WWD speculates that the Kering-owned brand is poised to explore the homeware market further with the candles a first foray to test the water.
