THE WHAT? France is attempting to ban the use of CBD in cosmetic products across the European Union, according to a report published by Business of Cannabis.

THE DETAILS France has initiated a process whereby, if successful, products containing CBD would need to carry a warning label under the CLP regulation. As reported on this platform last week, the European Commission has also issued a call for data in advance of a Scientific Committee hearing.

THE WHY? The French authorities failed to submit timely responses when contacted by the Business of Cannabis but it is well documented that its regulatory bodies are concerned about the safety of the popular wellness ingredient.
