Procter & Gamble sells remaining Irish plant

THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble has waved goodbye to its last remaining manufacturing facility in Ireland, according to a repot published by the Irish Times.

THE DETAILS The US FMCG giant’s Newbridge plant has been taken over by Mapaex, the final tranche of a US$10.5 million deal announced in November 2020. All 350 staff will transfer to the new owners.

THE WHY? The Indian contract manufacturer plans to bring new product lines on site, making use of the excess capacity. The plant will continue to supply P&G with Oral B and Braun products for the next decade.
