THE WHAT? Unilever Philippines has ramped up production by 15 percent thanks to an €80 million investment in a state-of-the-art facility.
THE DETAILS The new Cavite site will bring production closer to key suppliers and Unilever’s own distribution center, reducing miles travelled by its finished goods as well as increasing local employment through the creation of new jobs.
THE WHY? Unilever Philippines Chairman and CEO, Benjie Yap, comments, “Our investment in the new factory is anchored in our purpose to meet the needs of consumers and our customers. Emerging markets contribute 59 percent to Unilever’s global turnover and the Philippines remains an important market and growth driver for the company.”
