THE WHAT? Rabanne has announced Troye Sivan as Global Makeup Brand Ambassador for its recently launched Beauty collection. The singer will front a new campaign for NUDES, a next-generation beauty collection inspired by the Maison’s fashion fabrics.

THE DETAILS The campaign shot by Louise and Maria Thornfeldt, sees Troye appear in a makeup mood created by Rabanne Beauty Creative Director Diane Kendal. 

“I’ve always been attracted to Rabanne’s effortless vibe,” comments Sivan. “I love to play and express myself, and I have actively worked over the years to unlearn any restrictions I put on myself when it comes to fashion and beauty. Something about Rabanne just feels very right to me personally, and their approach to fashion and beauty is aligned with mine.”

THE WHY? The collaboration follows Sivan’s Rush video, in which he wore Rabanne; and his appearance at the SS24 Rabanne show wearing the fashion brand’s new season designs and makeup. We imagine the songwriter and actor’s social media audience of 39 million can’t have hurt.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by Reuters, the company is now valued at €14 billion, with shares trading at €25.35 a-piece.

THE WHY? Reuters reveals, quoting a note from JP Morgan, that Puig is expected to benefit from strong demand for luxury scents and shares could hit €32 by 2025’s close; indeed net sales rose 10.1 percent yoy in Q1 2024.

THE WHAT? Luxury Brand Partners is said to be mulling the sale of its One/Size and IGK Hair brands. The brand incubator is said to have hired The Sage Group to evaluate the various options for its star beauty lines.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by Business of Fashion, One/Size is expected to reports revenues of US$115 million in 2024, while IGK could hit US$80 million. Both have grown strongly in the past two years.

THE WHY? Presumably, Luxury Brand Partners is hoping to cash in on the brands’ impressive results and long-term potential – at least, so says Business of Fashion. Both brands are yet to expand internationally having focused on a strong domestic foundation.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by WWD, the store will use the dedicated space to offer facials while the retail area will stock Goop’s own labels: Goop Beauty and G.Label as well as homeware, jewelry and wellness essentials.

THE WHY? The store is part of the brand’s wider expansion strategy, WWD reports quoting Matthew Blythe, Senior Director of Retail Operations and Development at Goop. The brand is hoping to build its retail portfolio to 20 stores at a rate of between one and three openings a year.

Qing Yangjin adds that J-beauty brands have suffered in the fall out following Japan’s controversial Fukishima discharge.
