L’Oreal Brazil to fuel fleet with biomethane; signs supply agreement with Gas Verde

THE WHAT? L’Oreal Brazil has signed a supply agreement with Gas Verde. The French beauty giant will buy 3.6m3 of biomethane from the energy firm to fuel its entire fleet of lorries.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by BN Americas, the filling station is located adjacent to L’Oreal’s Gaia distribution center, the company’s second largest in the region, and will, the French beauty giant claims, be the first cosmetics firm to use 100 percent renewable fuel for its entire fleet.

THE WHY? The move forms part of the Maybelline manufacturer’s wider sustainability strategy, helping to meet the environmental commitments it made in 2020 under its L’Oreal for the future program.
