THE WHAT?  Dubai Duty Free has partnered with Alipay+ to offer a seamless travel and checkout experience for international visitors at Dubai and Al Maktoum International airports.

THE DETAILS The partnership enables consumers from South Korea, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Italy, China, Hong Kong, and Macao to use their home digital apps for payments at duty-free stores. Alipay+ integrates with e-wallets and banking apps like Alipay, GCash, Kakao Pay, and others, allowing transactions in home currencies with real-time details. The service also applies to taxi fares and shopping in downtown malls and airports.

THE WHY?  This move is part of Dubai Duty Free’s 40th Anniversary celebration, which includes various promotions and deals. The partnership aims to enhance the shopping experience for key travelers from Asia and Europe by allowing the use of familiar payment methods.
