THE WHAT? Next is rumored to be in talks to acquire The Body Shop after new owner, Aurelius, announced that the UK chain would be placed in administration.

THE DETAILS According to a report published by Sky News, the high street fashion and home ware chain has contacted administrators, FRP Advisory, to express an interest in acquiring parts of the ethical beauty chain.

Any deal would not include The Body Shop’s brand and intellectual property, which are not part of the administration process, Business of Fashion reports.

THE WHY? Like the deals it has struck with Gap, Victoria’s Secret, Fat Face and Joules, Next has become known for snapping up British high street stalwarts that have fallen on hard times.
