THE WHAT? At the World Congress of Dermatology in Singapore, L’Oréal has unveiled new research into hormonal variations’ impact on skin and pigmentation conducted by its Vichy and La Roche Posay brands respectively.
THE DETAILS Vichy presented the findings of a survey of 20,000 women from 20 countries; the majority (72 percent) reported that hormonal variations impact their well-being and three out of four said that their skin was negatively impacted during menstruation.
Meanwhile, La Roche Posay surveyed 48,000 people across 34 countries – the largest study of its kind – and found that half self-reported a pigmentary disorder and a third experienced a strong impact on their quality of life as a result.
THE WHY? Barbara Lavernos, Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Research, Innovation and Technology, L’Oréal Groupe, commented, “We are delighted to return to the World Congress of Dermatology armed with new insights on global skin concerns to complement the important work of the dermatology community. Thanks to extensive research, innovation and growing investments in tech, together we can help address people’s most pressing skin and hair concerns – from hyperpigmentation to sun protection, acne, dry skin and beyond – enabling more people to enjoy healthier skin and a greater quality of life.”
