Kose creates make-up projection mapping simulator Color Machine

THE WHAT? Japanese cosmetics manufacturer Kose has created a new projection mapping simulator for make-up, named Color Machine, according to a report by Nikkei Asia.

THE DETAILS Projecting make-up images onto the user’s face, they can select products such as eye shadow, lipstick and other colors.

Developed using high-speed projection mapping technology created by Associate Professor of Tokyo Institute of Technology, Yoshihiro Watanabe, it recognises faces at the rate of 1,000 times per second, instantly determining the shape of the face.

THE WHY? As tech-driven beauty continues apace, it is increasingly assisting consumers in discovering new identities and looks, in turn driving sales.
