THE WHAT? Personal care brand Hand in Hand has appointed former Unilever executive Piyush Jain as its new Chief Executive Officer. 

THE DETAILS Co-Founder and current CEO Bill Glaab will assume the role of Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors and is said to be focused on ‘accelerating the company’s mission to harness business as a force for good.’

Prior to his appointment Jain held a 23-year career at Unilever, most recently serving as Global Brand Vice President in Hair Care. Jain launched Unilever’s eco-brand Love Beauty & Planet and had vast experience with mass market brands such as Dove, Lux and TRESemmé.

THE WHY? Hand in Hand has orchestrated the leadership change following a period of growth, with the company achieving 20x revenue rise during 2020. 

Glaab said of Jain’s appointment, “Given his extensive experience at the intersection of the personal care industry and both philanthropy and sustainability efforts, I’m confident in Piyush’s ability to push our efforts forward to make the world a cleaner, better place, and we will work in close coordination to assure a seamless transition.”
