Unilever tops the price hike charts

THE WHAT? Unilever has hiked its prices more quickly than fellow FMCG manufacturers, according to a report published by Reuters.

THE DETAILS The manufacturer of Dove upped prices by 12.5 percent in the third quarter, an all-time high. Procter & Gamble reported a 9.5 percent rise for the same three-month period.

THE WHY? Unilever’s higher-than-average price rise is due to its higher exposure in emerging markets and food, said Reuters, quoting analysts.
