Nivea India celebrates sustainability milestone; 65 tons of MLP recycled

THE WHAT? Nivea India is celebrating a significant milestone on its mission to reduce plastic waste. The Beiersdorf-owned brand has recycled 65 tons of multi-layer plastics (MLP) in the four and a half years of implementation.

THE DETAILS By recycling MLP into materials then used to construct durable shop display units, Nivea has conserved some 1755 cubic meters of water and offset 358 tons of CO2 emissions as well as creating 1,000 job opportunities in the region.

THE WHY? Neha Parekh – Supply Chain Director, Nivea India, comments, “The vision took root over four years ago and after careful planning and collaboration with our partner agencies, we are thrilled to witness the impactful outcomes of our efforts. This initiative not only champions environmental sustainability but also significantly enhances the operational efficiency of our distributors.
